African Rainforest Games

In truth there aren't all that many good quality rainforest games online, and many that do exist are full of little cartoon characters or colour in pages. This collection of rainforest games isn't going to change the world either but if it kindles some interest in the rainforests of the world and how important they are to our planet then its a task achieved. Our rainforest games highlight logging and deforestation, the lives of those who live in the rainforests of Africa, particularly the Congo region, and some of the wildlife that also lives there. The Congo basin itself is home to the world deepest river at 720ft and the world's second largest rainforest that covers not just the two countries of the Republic of Congo and the neighbouring Democratic Republic of Congo but also parts of Central African Republic, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea and Gabon. Today the rainforest, upon which literally hundreds of millions rely for their very survival, is under threat not least from loggers who are engaged by large, often international companies, and who receive small gifts in exchange for hundred of thousand of dollars worth of wood they harvest. These local loggers have little idea of the wealth they are generating for others in exchange for a pittance nor the impact of their actions on their own communities. Each of these games also tells the player a little bit more about the issues highlighted in the game. Enjoy!
